Larry R. Nauss was born
in Neptune, New Jersey on November 23, 1953. He attended American
University in Washington, D.C. and graduated from the University of
Connecticut in 1975, earning a B.A. degree in Urban and Community
Studies. He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas
College of Law in 1981.
Mr. Nauss was admitted to the Texas bar
in 1982. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Oil, Gas and Energy
Resources Law; Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law; and Business Law
Sections) and the Montgomery County Bar Association.
Mr. Nauss has 33 years of energy and
construction/real estate industry experience, including serving as
both in-house and outside counsel for various oil and gas
pipeline/transportation and exploration/production companies, as well
as construction/real estate development companies, including General
Homes, Inc., Scurlock Oil Company, UNOCAL/76, Mitchell Energy
Corporation, The Woodlands Corporation and The Woodlands Operating
Company, L.P.
Mr. Nauss has held associate, partner
and ownership positions with various law firms involved in energy and commercial/residential land
acquisition, development and administration; land title examination and rendering of title
opinions; commercial and residential real estate transactions, including mortgage loans, foreclosures;
commercial litigation and litigation management.
Mr. Nauss has served as general counsel
to various banks, title companies, construction contractors, and many
other small to mid-sized businesses in many different industries. He
has also handled business formation; bankruptcy; commercial
collections and litigation; mechanic’s and materialmen’s liens; family
law; Wills, probate, guardianship and estate administration matters.
